Chat with your Thai partner on LINE — without copy-pasting into Google Translate

If you and your partner don't share a language, you've probably been copying every message into a translator app and back. KrubKa sits in the LINE chat instead: you write English, they read natural Thai, and their Thai replies appear in English right under the original. It works the same with their family, your landlord or a colleague.

Set it up in two minutes

  1. Add KrubKa as a friend on LINE: @858tccji.
  2. Open the chat you already have with them, tap Menu (☰) → Invite, select KrubKa and tap Next. There's no need to create a group first: LINE turns your chat into a shared conversation for the three of you, and your earlier messages stay in the original chat.
  3. Send one new message, then keep chatting. Every message is translated both ways, automatically.
  4. Connect your LINE account in the KrubKa app so the conversation runs on your monthly allowance. Until someone in it has connected, it gets a one-time trial of 10 translations.

What your partner sees

Your partner doesn't install anything or make an account. They see your English message followed by KrubKa's Thai translation, and write back in Thai the way they always do. You see their Thai message followed by the English. Each translation quotes the message it came from, so it's always clear what was said.

Thai that sounds like you

Thai sentences end differently depending on who is speaking: men usually end with ครับ (krub), women with ค่ะ (ka). Pick yours in the KrubKa app, or type /krub or /ka in the chat, and your translated messages end the way you would say them. Names, numbers, dates and prices are kept exactly as written.

What it doesn't do

  • Voice messages aren't translated.
  • Photos in the shared conversation aren't translated. Send them to KrubKa in your private chat with it instead, and it explains what matters — the amount on a bill, a due date, what a letter asks you to do.
  • Filler like “ok”, “thanks”, “555” or emoji-only messages is left alone, so the chat doesn't fill up with translations of nothing. It doesn't count towards your allowance either.

What it costs

Free: 50 translations a month, shared between your chats. KrubKa Unlimited ($4.99/month or $39.99/year) makes your translations unlimited and covers every chat you've added KrubKa to, under fair use. Your partner never pays or signs up.

Questions

Do we have to make a group?

No. Invite KrubKa into the chat you already have. LINE turns it into a shared conversation for the three of you, and it works just like your normal chat.

Does my partner need to install anything?

No. They keep using LINE exactly as before — no app, no account, no sign-up.

Can KrubKa read our old messages?

No. KrubKa only sees messages sent after it joins, and your earlier messages stay in the original chat.

How is this different from LINE's own translate?

LINE's translate works one message at a time, when you tap on it. KrubKa translates every message automatically, both ways, for both of you, with polite Thai endings.

Can we still see the original messages?

Yes. Nobody's messages are changed; KrubKa adds the translation as a reply that quotes the original.

Can I stop it for a while?

Type /pause in the chat to stop translating and /resume to start again.
